Booster Car Seats
Booster seats are forward facing child safety seats that lift a child up so that a normal seat belt fits comfortably and safely. Many states require booster seats by law. Booster seats are appropriate for children too large for a normal car seat (40- 80 lbs), and should not be used until a child is at least this large. Booster seats fall into two categories. High-back boosters are designed with a cushioned back should be used when your child’s ears are below the top of the backseat to protect their head and neck. Belt-Positioning/Seat Only Boosters have only a base and are made for older children (ages 4-8) who are under 4’9” but tall enough to not require a high back booster.
